Slob Sisters Presenting ‘Feminar’

The Slob Sisters will present a “feminar” titled “This Whole House” at the First Church of the Open Bible, 8303 N. Division, on April 26.

The Slob Sisters are Pam Young and Peggy Jones of Vancouver, Wash. As former slobs themselves, the duo will present humorous tips and ideas on how to get organized and stay that way.

The feminar, so-called because it’s aimed at women, will be from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 and seating is limited. Advance reservations are required. To reserve a space, call the church office at 467-5122.

Fun and games at North Hill

All are invited to attend game night at North Hill Christian Church, 4620 N. Post, from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Charades, pinochle and board games will provide fun for all ages. People are invited to bring their favorite board game to the church.

Those attending are also asked to bring a snack to share.

White elephant bingo Saturday

St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2159 N. Hamilton, will host a white elephant bingo and potluck Saturday at 6 p.m. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share, table service for themselves and a small inexpensive gift to be given away as a bingo prize. Beverages will be provided. For more information, call the church office at 483-8192.

Concert at Trinity United

The Melody Singers will hold a concert at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1725 E. Bridgeport, at 5 p.m. Sunday. The members of the singing group are local men who perform frequently in the area.

A potluck dinner will follow the concert. The concert is free but donations will be accepted. For more information, call the church at 483-2361.

Rummage sale on Saturday

Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church, 4449 N. Nevada, will host the Woodcarvers Club’s rummage and bake sale on Saturday. Sale hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Fund-raising social

A fund-raising social organized by the new Halleluiah House of Praise church is scheduled for Friday at the downtown YMCA. The social will feature court games, card and board games, trivia and dancing. All ages are welcome to attend the social, which will run from 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The Halleluiah House of Praise is a newly formed church. Organizer Dwan Brown hopes to raise money to buy a building to house the church, a recreation center and a kitchen to feed the poor. The church was founded a year ago by Brown, who is currently an associate minister at the Calvary Baptist Church. The church is not holding regular services while it searches for a place to call home.

Admission to the social is $3 and a can of food. For more information on the social or the new church, call 483-6000.
