Man Drowns After Hitting Head On Fridge

Compiled From Wire Services

A 68-year-old man apparently fell into a creek and drowned after hitting his head on a refrigerator he was fixing outside.

The body of Robert Hensley was found Tuesday in the creek outside his home. Hensley was apparently repairing the refrigerator on the creekbank and both slid into the water, state Trooper Mike Lafauci said Friday.

“The refrigerator hit him on the head,” he said. “I guess the blow to his head caused him to drown, because he couldn’t get up.”

The town of Big Ugly is 25 miles southwest of Charleston.
