Carrier Plays Host To Goodwill Boxing
In 31 years plying the seas, the U.S.S. Intrepid witnessed plenty of fights, but not too many of them with a referee and a ring. All that will change next summer.
The boxing tournament of the 1998 Goodwill Games will be held in a 3,300-seat arena on the massive flight deck of the aircraft carrier, now moored as a museum on the Hudson River at West 46th Street.
