Cardinals Sign Two Recruits For Women’s Basketball Team
North Idaho College has a pair of new women’s basketball recruits.
Mandy Lindhe, a guard from Tonasket, Wash., and Jodi Fisher, a forward from Polson, Mont., have signed with the Cardinals.
The 5-foot-7 Lindhe averaged 15 points per game. “She can score, and we needed a scorer,” NIC coach Greg Crimp said.
Fisher, from the same high school as last season’s starting point guard, Jaime Richards, will play wing or small forward. The 5-11 Fisher averaged 12 points per game.
“She’s a versatile player,” Crimp said. “She posts up and puts it on the floor.”
McKanstry a Ram
NIC sophomore Andre McKanstry has verbally committed to play men’s basketball at Colorado State University.
“I wanted to go to a place where I can play right away and they were looking for a ‘two’ guard,” McKanstry said. “They have a good coach (Stew Morrill) and it’s a good conference (Western Athletic).”
McKanstry averaged 15 points per game and was second in the Scenic West Athletic Conference in steals (2.7 per game). He was honorable mention All-Region 18 and made the Region 18 all-tournament team.
McKanstry selected Colorado State over South Alabama and Valparaiso.
