Peanuts Cause Recall Of Ice Cream Treats
A Wisconsin company is recalling up to 27,000 ice cream sandwiches because some may contain peanuts, posing a life-threatening risk to people allergic to the nuts.
At issue are Popsicle Vanilla Flavored Ice Cream Sandwiches, distributed nationwide by Good Humor-Breyers Ice Cream.
Consumers who bought individual ice cream sandwiches should check for the code “Plant 24-0011” located directly below the Good HumorBreyers address on the package, the company said Friday.
Retailers should check the shipping cases for the following suspect product codes: 348 6 SP1, 009 7 SP1 and HG041 97 2411 SP1&2.
People allergic to peanuts should not consume the suspect ice cream sandwiches, the Food and Drug Administration said.
