Dynamite Discovery Closes Highway 97

U.S. Highway 97 was closed for 3 hours Saturday after 10 sticks of dynamite were found beneath an overpass on the southern outskirts of Klamath Falls.

The dynamite was found after an anonymous caller told the Klamath Falls 911 center at 6 a.m. that there was a suspicious device beneath the Green Springs overpass.

State police explosive technicians from Medford removed the dynamite without incident.
