Robber Kills Teller Execution-Style

Compiled From Wire Services

A teller was fatally shot Monday morning during a bank robbery in Thousand Oaks after two masked men already had the money, authorities said.

As he was leaving, one man turned and fired his handgun at Monica Lynne Leech, 39, of Camarillo. Two of the other three bank employees who were found handcuffed saw him shoot her in the head while she was kneeling.

FBI and police officers quickly gathered to search for the two suspects, who were last seen speeding off in a white sport utility vehicle. “It was absolutely unprovoked,” said Chief Deputy Bob Brooks of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department. “I’ve been here 23 years and I’ve never seen anything like this.”

Leech was kneeling on the floor near the vault when one of the suspects shot the woman in the back of the head execution-style, authorities said.
