Rockers Extend Win Streak To 7

Eva Nemcova scored 17 points and Janice Braxton did not miss a shot while scoring 15 as the Cleveland Rockers ran their winning streak to seven by beating the Phoenix Mercury 79-67 in WNBA basketball action Thursday night.

The streak equals one put together earlier this season by New York. The Rockers, rallying from a slow start, improved to 10-8 before a crowd of 7,014 in Gund Arena.

The Mercury (8-8) dropped their fifth straight.

Jennifer Gillom and Marlies Askamp each scored 12 to lead Phoenix.
