Man Slightly Injured In Shooting

Compiled From Wire Services

A 46-year-old man escaped serious injury Sunday morning when he was shot at by an unidentified gunman near the corner of Second Avenue and Post Street, said Dick Cottam, spokesman for the Spokane Police Department.

The victim told police he and a friend were walking to a store when a black male in his 20s approached, fired a handgun several times, then ran. The victim suffered a minor injury to his chin, Cottam said.

A security officer in the area heard six shots, Cottam said. Police have no motive for the shooting.
