Sirti Makes Annual Request For Proposals

From Staff Reports

The Spokane Intercollegiate Research & Technology Institute is looking for a few good proposals.

SIRTI will provide funding of up to $200,000 per project over two years to companies or academic experts that need help in commercializing promising technologies.

SIRTI’s request for proposals targets specific technology sectors, including digital technologies, such as software engineering, multimedia, intelligent manufacturing and microelectronics; energy technologies, such as energy conversion, alternative fuels, transmission and distribution; and emerging technologies such as biotechnology, environmental technology and advanced materials.

To qualify, projects must demonstrate the potential to create jobs or grow regional companies. They must also be relevant to U.S. Defense Department needs or have a potential military application, because SIRTI operates in part through a grant from the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

Preliminary proposals are due Aug. 29, with full proposals due Nov. 14. Award notifications will be made by Jan. 14, 1998. Contact Nancy Perrigue at (509) 358-2059 or nancyp@sirti.org.
