Dead Concertgoer May Have Overdosed

From Staff And Wire Reports

A Maryland man whose body was taken to a hospital after a weekend concert apparently died of a drug overdose, but it will be several days before the cause is known, the Grant County sheriff said Tuesday.

Ryan M. Cashman, 19, of Prince Frederick, Md., apparently died sometime Sunday night, but companions thought he was sleeping. They brought his body to Quincy Valley Hospital, about 10 miles north of here, early Monday afternoon, Sheriff Bill Wiester said.

An autopsy performed Tuesday showed no obvious signs of trauma. Results of toxicology tests won’t be available for several days, the sheriff said.

Cashman traveled with three people from Illinois to a series of concerts at the Gorge amphitheater on the Columbia River Gorge near this tiny town.

He was the second fatality of the weekend at the concert site.

Brian L. Taylor, 21, of Silver Lake, Ind., died Saturday night when he apparently fell out of the window of a parked car and hit his head. He was pronounced dead at Quincy Valley Hospital.
