More Deaths Linked To Mad Cow Disease
Two more people in Britain have died of a brain ailment linked to mad cow disease, the government says.
The latest fatalities, reported Monday by Britain’s Department of Health, bring the number of British deaths linked to the variant of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease to 20.
The European Union has banned British beef exports since last year, when Britain warned that beef from cattle with bovine spongiform encephalopathy, or mad cow disease, was the most likely cause of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease in humans.
