Leonora Hanson Sandpoint

Memorial service for Leonora A. Hanson, 83, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Coffelt’s Moon Chapel in Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hanson, who was born in Wisconsin, died June 16.

She attended school in Wisconsin and had worked as a farmer before moving to the Spokane Valley.

Mrs. Hanson returned to Wisconsin in 1966 and moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1974. She later moved to Sandpoint.

Her husband, Joe, died in 1994.

She is survived by three daughters, June Roffler of Arizona, Julene Dutton of Iowa and Kristine Anselmo of Sandpoint; a sister, Viola Sonstegard of Minnesota; and five grandchildren.

Kenneth Yaw Sandpoint

Service for Kenneth Edward Yaw, 77, will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Coffelt’s Moon Chapel in Sandpoint. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint.

Mr. Yaw, who was born in Sandpoint, died Tuesday.

He attended school in Sandpoint and lived most of his life in the Bronx area north of Sandpoint.

Mr. Yaw worked as a farmer, and for Laswell Milling and the Howard Thomason Cattle Ranch.

Survivors include a brother, Ray Yaw of Sandpoint; and a sister, Genevieve McIntyre of Oregon.

Sydney Cowell Sandpoint

Memorial service for 3-month-old Sydney “Nee-Nee” Nicole Cowell will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Sandpoint Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Coffelt Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Sydney was born in April in Sandpoint, and died Aug. 4, after receiving a bone marrow transplant in June in Omaha, Neb.

She is survived by her parents, Josh and Stephanie Cowell; two sisters, Alissa and Brooke; her grandparents, Eunie and Steve Romero of Palmdale, Calif., Dodie Cowell of Coeur d’Alene and Ronnie Cowell of Utah; her great-grandmothers, Eursie Romero of LosLunas, Calif., and Eunice Smith of Littlerock, Calif.; and her great-great grandmothers, Mae Cowell of Littlerock and Mary Richards of San Bernardino, Calif.

Patrick Kane Hartline, Wash.

Service for Patrick A. Kane, 82, was Thursday at the Coulee City (Wash.) Presbyterian Church. Burial was at Hartline Cemetery.

Born in Hartline, Mr. Kane died Monday.

He graduated from college and in 1942 married Anna Gossett.

Mr. Kane farmed and taught school in Post Falls and Thorp, Wash.

He was a member of the Grange Association.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Patrick Kane Jr. of Fairfield, K.C. Kane of Colville, Wash., and Wayne Kane of Pasco; two daughters, Rozanne Thompson of Snoqualmie, Wash., and Colleen Sam of Invermere, British Columbia; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth (Babcock) Bloom Spokane

Memorial service for Elizabeth (Babcock) Bloom, 92, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Rockwood Manor. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Bloom, who was born in Elmo, Mo., died Monday.

She received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Washington and began teaching in Unga, Ark., in 1924. She also taught in Kennewick in 1953.

She retired in 1969 and moved to Spokane.

Mrs. Bloom was a member of the Manito United Methodist Church, Mary Circle and Chapter R, Philanthropic Educational Organization and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter in Aberdeen, Wash.

Her husband, Edward, died in 1994.

She is survived by a daughter, Kay Lester of Spokane; a son, Neil Bloom of Portland; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rockwood Foundation Health Care Renovation Fund.

Leo Graham Deer Park

Service for Leo C. Graham, 76, will be at 10 a.m. today at the Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. Graham, who was born in Peck, Idaho, died Monday.

He served in the Navy during World War II.

He owned a well drilling company. He was a 20-year Spokane resident and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3067 and Eagles Lodge No. 3564, both in Deer Park.

Mr. Graham is survived by his wife of 20 years, Louise; two sons, John and Kent Graham, both of Spokane; a stepson, Michael Tyree of Spokane; three stepdaughters, Cecile LaFountain of Spokane, Diane Tyree of San Diego and Lisa Herrington of Richland; a brother, Richard Graham of Othello, Wash.; and 13 grandchildren.

Velma (Sever) Radkey Spokane

Service for Velma G. (Sever) Radkey, 77, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mrs. Radkey, who was born in LaCrosse, Wash., died Monday.

She worked for Moore’s Furniture Store in Colfax, Wash., for several years.

In 1946 she married Ray Radkey. They moved to Spokane and she was a homemaker.

Her husband died in 1952.

Mrs. Radkey worked at the Young Women’s Club of America and served as a personal secretary to Mary Jewett Gaiser for 25 years.

Mrs. Radkey was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary.

Survivors include a son, Steven Radkey of Spokane; a brother, Richard Sever of Seattle; and three grandsons.
