Youth Finds $500 - And Turns It In

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 14-year-old Greenacres boy found more than $500 in cash on the street Saturday and instead of keeping it, he turned it in to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

The boy, whose name was not released, was riding his bike behind the Fred Meyer on Sprague and Sullivan. He stopped briefly to avoid a sprinkler. When he looked down, he discovered a roll of cash.

After he went home to talk to his mom, the boy called the sheriff’s office.

“He thought it was the right thing to do,” said Spokane County sheriff’s Deputy David Reagan.

If no one claims the money within 90 days, the boy may be eligible to keep it. , DataTimes
