Man With Gun Robs Downtown Motel

Compiled From Wire Services

A pistol-toting man in his 20s robbed the Trade Winds Motel office around 3 a.m. Sunday, said Dick Cottam, spokesman for the Spokane Police Department.

The man is described as 6 feet tall, approximately 180 pounds and wearing silver, wire-rim glasses.

The man pointed his gun at a clerk, demanded money and took an undisclosed amount of cash, Cottam said. He fled on foot.

A police dog tracked the man to the corner of Fourth Avenue and Madison Street and then lost his scent.
