Woman Enters Guilty Plea To Embezzling From Union

A Poulsbo woman has pleaded guilty to charges she embezzled nearly $14,000 from a union.

Nancy Gibson, 47, entered her plea Thursday in U.S. District Court in Tacoma, the U.S. attorney’s office in Seattle said in a news release.

Gibson admitted embezzling about $13,965 from September 1992 to November 1995, when she was a secretary for the Bremerton Metal Trades Council. Gibson agreed to reimburse the union for the stolen money, the news release said.

Gibson faces up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 when she is sentenced Nov. 14 by U.S. District Judge Jack Tanner.
