Toddler Killed On U.S. 95 After He Bolts From Sitter

A 3-year-old Bonners Ferry boy was killed Friday night when he ran in front of a car on U.S. Highway 95, according to the Idaho State Police.

Austin T. Finley and his baby sitter were standing by the side of the highway near the new IGA supermarket waiting for the traffic to clear when Austin broke free from her grip and ran into the roadway, the ISP reported.

Joseph M. Divine, 17, also of Bonners Ferry, was driving his pickup north. Austin ran in front of the vehicle and was killed. The accident occurred at 9:20 p.m.

The investigating officer said the accident was unavoidable and no alcohol was involved. , DataTimes
