Auburn Boeing Plant Evacuated After Spill

Associated Press

A 20-gallon nitric acid spill Tuesday forced the evacuation of the Boeing fabrication plant and sickened one person, the Auburn Fire Department said.

A 35-year-old man working near the spill complained of a headache and was taken to Boeing’s on-site medical center for evaluation.

Boeing employees said the spill occurred about 3:45 p.m. when a worker was adding nitric acid to a tank, and the tank line began leaking.
