Nestle Coating Pretzels In Candy

Rick Bonino Food Editor

Part of growing up is learning that sometimes, when you really want a candy bar, life dishes up pretzels instead.

Nestle tries to combine the best of both worlds with its new Pretzel Flipz, Rold Gold pretzels that come coated in milk chocolate or white fudge.

We sampled the milk chocolate version at a special back-to-school session of The Spokesman-Review’s reader food panel that included several youngsters. Surprisingly, perhaps, they were more popular with the adults.

Maybe after a few years of staff meetings and mortgage payments, the kids will start to understand.

Nestle Pretzel Flipz, Milk Chocolate Covered Pretzels Price: 79 cents for 2 ounces (about 16 pretzels).
