Dorothy ‘Dot’ Johnson Sandpoint

Visitation for Dorothy “Dot” Johnson, 77, will be today from 1-7 p.m. at Coffelt’s Funeral Service in Sandpoint. Memory of life service will be Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at Mrs. Johnson’s home on Rocky Point off the Dover Highway.

Mrs. Johnson, a lifetime Sandpoint area resident, died Wednesday.

She grew up and attended schools in Sandpoint and was a member of the Sandpoint First Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Washington School P.T.A. and the American Legion Auxiliary, where she held several offices.

She served as director of the Idaho Girls State program, was a member of the Ladies of Elks and was active in youth baseball.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Bob; four children, Sandy Johnson and Steve Johnson, both of Oregon, Carol Sargent of California, and Tom Johnson of Sagle, Idaho; a sister, Helen Olson; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Gordon ‘Hank’ Walde Hayden Lake, Idaho

Memorial service for Gordon H. “Hank” Walde, 65, is set for 1 p.m. Friday at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel. A reception will follow at the Hayden Chapel Gathering Center.

Mr. Walde, who was born in Denver, died Wednesday.

He grew up and graduated from high school in Denver and attended the Colorado School of Mines.

Mr. Walde entered the Army in 1955 and was discharged in 1957.

He had worked at the Climax Mine in Golden, Colo., before moving to North Idaho 25 years ago.

He worked for Hecla Mining and retired in 1988.

Mr. Walde was a member of the Idaho Ski Club and Avondale Golf Club.

Survivors include five sons, David Walde of Boston, James Walde of Spokane, Donald Walde of Post Falls, Lewis Walde of Coeur d’Alene and Dean Walde of California; a sister, Carol Branch of Denver; and three grandsons.

Gene Raymond Spokane

Memorial service for Gene Raymond, 59, will be at 3 p.m. today at Central Lutheran Church. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Spokane, Mr. Raymond died Tuesday.

He graduated from Palouse (Wash.) High School.

Mr. Raymond was a Marine Corps veteran and worked as a truck driver for CFI and System Trucking Companies until he retired in 1994.

He is survived by his wife Celiann; two sons, Tim Raymond of Spokane and Erik Raymond of Post Falls; his mother, Marion Raymond of Coeur d’Alene; a sister Patricia Randal of Coeur d’Alene; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

James Bradshaw Nine Mile Falls

Memorial service for James F. Bradshaw, 82, will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at Nine Mile Falls Community Hall. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements and cremation.

Mr. Bradshaw, who was born in Hillcrest, Alberta, died Tuesday.

He worked as a mechanic for Spokane Gas and Fuel for eight years then as a millwright for Aluminum Company of America at Mead. He also worked at Trentwood Aluminum Company and Magnesium Company.

In 1944, Mr. Bradshaw joined the Navy and received three medals.

He worked as a foreman for Dix Steel Building and then as an ironworker for Economy Steel Company. For two years he worked at the Atomic Energy Commission for Hanford. He later worked at Kaiser Aluminum in Tacoma as a foreman.

He retired in 1964 as a welder for the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton. Mr. Bradshaw held various foreman positions from 1967 to 1973 when he permanently retired.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol and Marilyn Bradshaw, both of California, and a son, Ronald Bradshaw of California.

Patricia (Slavin) Carlson Hammond, Ore.

Memorial service for Patricia (Slavin) Carlson, a former Spokane resident, will be held at a later date in Astoria, Ore. Slaten Funeral Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Spokane, Mrs. Carlson died Monday. She was 62.

She graduated from Marycliff High School and worked in restaurant management in the Spokane area.

She moved to Hammond in 1988.

Mrs. Carlson is survived by her husband, Donald Carlson; three daughters, Brenda Brown, Jennifer Graziano and Deborah Williams, all of Spokane; a son, John Carlson of Astoria; her mother and stepfather, Helen and Michael Vercillo; and five grandchildren.

Kenneth ‘K.C.’ Doggett Spokane

Memorial service for Kenneth Charles ‘K.C.’ Doggett, 85, will be 2 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Creamtion will follow.

Mr. Doggett, who was born in Hooker, Okla., died Wednesday.

He was a self-employed dairy farmer.

He was a member of the Valley Prairie Grange and Teamsters Local No. 690.

Mr. Doggett was a 61-year Spokane resident.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel; three daughters Dianne DeHaven of Seattle, Kathleen Hill of Colbert and Dixie Adams of Kennewick; a son Kenneth Doggett of Portland; six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Union Gospel Mission.

James Columbo Spokane

Visitation for James D. Columbo, 78, will be from 9 to 11 a.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Trentwood.

Mr. Columbo, who was born in Orange, N.J., died Tuesday.

He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He later worked for 33 years for Columbia Lighting.

Mr. Columbo is survived by his wife of 29 years, Shirley; two sons, Jim Columbo Jr., of Texas, and John Columbo; a daughter, Lavette DeSautel of Oregon; two stepchildren, Diane and David Carroll; two brothers in New Jersey; a sister in New York; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Eunice Gengelbach Spokane

Memorial service for Eunice H. Gengelbach, 85, will be at 3 p.m. today at Covenant Christian Church. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Gengelbach, who was born in Indiana, died Tuesday She moved to Spokane in 1951.

Mrs. Gengelbach was a elementary school teacher at Roosevelt, Franklin and Lincoln Heights. She retired in 1978.

Her husband, Robert Gengelbach, died in 1979.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Gengelbach of Spokane and Robert Gengelbach of Rochester, N.Y.; a sister Marge Clark of Waukegan, Ill.; and two grandchildren.

Marguerite (Vaughn) English Spokane

Memorial service for Marguerite (Vaughn) English, 82, is set for 3 p.m. today at Salem Lutheran Church. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. English, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Wednesday She was a 1934 graduate of North Central High School and worked as a machine operator and lining cutter for 64 years at Spokane Fur Company and Alfred Bogue Fur Company.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul English.

Mrs. English was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and sang in the choir and served as a wedding caterer.

Survivors include a sister, Lucille Ashlock, and a brother, Dale Vaughn, both of Spokane.

Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Lutheran Church.

Elwyn Gulick Spokane

No service will be held for Elwyn J. Gulick, 93, at his request. Inurnment will be at the Pullman Cemetery. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Gulick, who was born in Pullman, died Tuesday.

He worked for the forest service on the Salmon River and moved to Pullman in 1928.

He worked as a mechanic and had owned his own shop and worked for the postal service.

He lived in Spokane for 22 years.

Mr. Gulick is survived by two daughters, Jimogene Savity of Seattle and Jerene Rivero of Spokane; two sons, Duane Gulick of Thornton, Wash., and Mickey Gulick of Snohomish, Wash.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
