Man Killed When Motorcycle Hits Bull

A Tacoma man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a bull on Idaho Highway 51 about seven miles north of the Nevada line.

Kent Leroy Ray, 40, was riding ahead of three other motorcyclists on the Duck Valley Indian Reservation when the accident occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

Idaho State Police Cpl. Vern Hancock said a bull, apparently ranging freely in the area, ran onto the highway and was hit by the motorcycle. Ray was wearing a helmet, but it flew off when he was thrown from the motorcycle and his head hit the ground, Hancock said.

Ray died at an Owyhee, Nev., hospital.

The other motorcyclists avoided the accident and were unhurt.
