Mr. And Mrs. Merkel Spokane

Paul Joseph and Irene Marie Merkel, Spokane, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house and reception from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Whitworth Presbyterian Church.

Hosts for the event will be their children and spouses: Linda Walline and Raymond Merkel, both of Spokane; Claudia and Tim Traeger, Dinuba, Calif.; Barbara and Dr. David Bell, Missoula; and Cyndi and Todd Rima, Marysville, Wash.

The Merkels were married Sept. 7, 1947, in Mullan, Idaho. They have 11 grandchildren.
