The First Duffer

First lady Hillary Rodham Clinton joined her husband for nine holes on Saturday. Under the unnerving gaze of news cameras and more than a dozen waiting golfers, she stepped up to the first tee with a plaintive “I don’t want to do this.” She asked her husband for instructions on holding her driver, then whacked the ball a good 40 yards and a little to the right. The president shot a 39 over nine holes, an aide said. The first lady’s score was not disclosed. She said she hits the links with her husband about once every three years. Is that as often as she’s invited or as often as she cares to play? “No comment,” she said with a smirk.
