Kaiser Trentwood Gains Quality Stamp

The Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corp. Trentwood plant recently won ISO 9000 international quality certification.

The International Organization for Standardization, based in Geneva, Switzerland, audits company quality systems against international standards.

The flat-rolled products plant at Trentwood, which makes aluminum sheet and plate for the aerospace, ground transportation, general engineering and packaging industries was recognized for its quality control standards and production efficiency.

The company hopes its quality certification will help in the international market.

“ISO certification is required by many of Trentwood’s customers and further allows Trentwood to participate in the worldwide aluminum flat-rolled products market,” said John Walker, Kaiser Trentwood/Flat-Rolled Products vice president and general manager. “Trentwood will be able to compete even more aggressively,” he said.
