Sun Devils Put Up 123 In Rout Of Delaware State

Jeremy Veal scored 24 points and led five players in double figures as Arizona State routed Delaware State 123-85 Monday night.

Bobby Lazor had 22 points, Jason Patton scored 21, Mike Batiste had 18 and Eddie House added 10 for the Sun Devils (4-2), who snapped a two-game losing streak with their third consecutive home victory.

Posting the fourth-highest point total in Arizona State history, all 11 players on Arizona State’s roster scored at least two points, including the Sun Devils’ three walk-ons.

For Delaware State, Terence Hood scored a game-high 30 points and Darein Robinson added 14 as the Hornets remained winless in three games against Pacific-10 Conference schools the last decade.

Veal scored five of Arizona State’s first nine points as the Sun Devils opened a 14-5 lead after 3:22.

The Sun Devils used a 12-3 run, capped by Patton’s layup and free throw, to open a 54-30 lead with 1:01 to go in the first half.
