Compiled From Wire Services

Allen Johnson and Marion Jones, who earned two gold medals each at the track and field World Outdoor Championships, have been chosen winners of the Jesse Owens Award.

Johnson, the world’s best 110-meter hurdler the past three years, narrowly defeated 100-meter world champion Maurice Greene for the men’s honor, while Jones, a sprinter and long jumper, was the runaway women’s winner in balloting by media and track officials.
