Pass Closes For Winter Season

Cayuse Pass on the east side of Mount Rainier closed for the winter Tuesday, the state Department of Transportation said.

The pass, on Washington 123 at the intersection of Washington 410, was temporarily closed Nov. 20 while maintenance crews continued to monitor conditions. It never reopened to traffic.

The pass was closed from Stevens Canyon Road to just south of the Crystal Mountain Boulevard cutoff on Washington 410.
