San Francisco Puts Cal Back In Great Depression

Zerrick Campbell scored 11 of his game-high 18 points in the second half and San Francisco (3-1) outscored California 10-3 in the final 3:50 to win 59-50 at San Francisco.

The Dons, one of the early favorites to contend for the WCC title, broke a four-game losing streak to the winless Bears, off to their first 0-3 start since 1929.

At Los Angeles, Corky Ausborne scored a career-high 19 points, and the Rebels (3-1) outscored the Trojans 17-6 in the final 6-1/2 minutes. USC (4-2) sophomore forward Jarvis Turner suffered a fractured left hand with 11:47 remaining in the first half and is expected to be sidelined for four weeks.
