Not Kidding Around

Like many 9-year-old girls, Victoria Falls of Buchanan, Va., enjoys cheerleading and playing with dolls. But what really makes her happy is tracking bears with her dog through rugged mountains. On Monday, she bagged her first treed critter. “My dad picked me up and hugged me,” said Victoria, above with her trusty rifle. “I was real excited, and so was he.” The bear has been skinned, and the meat is hanging in the family barn. The hide and head will be mounted for Victoria.
