An Arlington teacher has been arrested in the alleged rape of a Vancouver teen-ager he met three years ago on the Internet, authorities in Snohomish and Clark counties say.
Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies, acting on a warrant issued in Vancouver, arrested Micah Petersen Wednesday for investigation of third-degree rape involving a 15-year-old boy.
The alleged assault took place while Petersen was a special education teacher in the Evergreen School District in Vancouver, said Bob Kanekoa, director of the Clark County Child Abuse Intervention Center.
“They both corresponded on the Internet and they scheduled a meeting, at which time the alleged incident occurred,” Kanekoa said.
Jan Jorgensen, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman, said the two met at a library and drove to the man’s home, where the alleged rape occurred.
