Leaf Among Four Stars Invited To Heisman Presentation

Associated Press

Washington State’s Ryan Leaf, Tennessee’s Peyton Manning, Michigan’s Charles Woodson and Marshall’s Randy Moss were formally invited to attend next Saturday’s Heisman Trophy presentation at the Downtown Athletic Club.

“As of today, those are the four that are coming,” Sean Ingram, coordinating director for the award, said Friday.

Leaf, who guided WSU to its first Rose Bowl in 67 years, has thrown for 3,637 yards and 33 TDs.

Manning has thrown for 3,446 yards and 32 touchdowns.

Woodson is trying to become the first primarily defensive player to win the award.

Moss set the NCAA single-season record with 25 touchdown catches.
