Arrested Pair Suspected In Coffee Shop Holdup

From Staff Reports

Police made two arrests in connection with the robbery of a Spokane coffee shop Tuesday.

Kevin R. Chastain, 22, was booked into Spokane County Jail on one count of first-degree robbery. A 17-year-old was booked into Spokane County Juvenile Detention on the same charge, police said.

Two males entered the Supreme Bean coffee shop at 2115 N. Hamilton at 6:07 p.m. Tuesday, told the clerk they had a weapon and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

After the coffee shop robbery was reported, police said they suspected the culprits might have been the same pair being investigated for other robberies.

The two were arrested when they returned to a home police had staked out, officers said.

Chastain and the 17-year-old were identified by the coffee shop clerk, police said.

Officers are also investigating a possible connection between that robbery and another at 6:52 p.m. Tuesday at Milliways Out Of This World Espresso Shop, 1602 N. Ash.

More charges are pending the outcome of an investigation, police said.
