University Runs Streak To 28

University’s winning streak equaled four years Tuesday during a Greater Spokane League gymnastics meet at Mead.

Tara Hulbert won the uneven bars and vault as the Titans (4-0) held off main competitor Ferris (3-1) by more than three points, 160.75-157.5.

U-Hi has won 28 consecutive GSL meets, or the same as four consecutive years’ worth.

Freshman Alisa Brandle added a win on the balance beam as the Titans placed her, Hulbert and Coleen Pierce in the top five of the all-around competition.

Ferris senior Kacey Frederickson won the all-around with 34.5 points, one-tenth ahead of Hulbert, also a senior. Frederickson won her specialty, the floor exercise, with a night-best 9.0. Hulbert also scored 9.0, on the bars.

Rogers (2-2), Mead (1-3) and the league’s newest team, Mount Spokane (0-4), also competed.

The season continues Thursday.
