Kathryn Schindler Spokane

Kathryn Schindler, Spokane, celebrates her 107th birthday today.

Kathryn Hoenike was born Dec. 11, 1890, in Omaha, Neb., and moved to the Spokane area in 1907.

She and Paul Schindler married in 1913. He died in 1963.

Mrs. Schindler was a housewife and mother of three children: Helen Rehfeld of Nordman, Idaho; and Gladyce French and Harold Schindler, both of Spokane. She has eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and four greatgreat-grandchildren.

She attributes her longevity to hard work, healthy living, and a positive attitude and sense of humor.
