Tuberville Staying Put

Tommy Tuberville is staying as football coach at Mississippi. He called athletic director Pete Boone from New York with the news that he had turned down a lucrative offer from Arkansas.

“I don’t know who their (Arkansas) man is, but our man is Tommy,” Boone told The Associated Press by phone Wednesday from the Oxford campus. “Tommy had said all along that he did not want to leave.”

Tuberville, 43, who is 18-15 in three seasons, has the Rebels (7-4) preparing for the Dec. 26 Motor City Bowl.
