Bsu Duo Suspended

Compiled From Wire Services

Two starters on the Boise State basketball team have been suspended for Saturday night’s game against Washington State.

That means Boise will have only eight players available - and that’s if injured guard Shane Flanagan is able to play.

Starters Gerry Washington and Kejuan Woods were suspended for one game because they were ejected from Wednesday night’s game against Idaho State for fighting. Idaho State players Odell Stokes and Tywan Meadows also were ejected and must sit out their next game.

For the second time, veteran Boise State track coach Ed Jacoby has resigned.

Jacoby said he will leave the position at the end of the year.

Jacoby headed the track and field program for 23 years before retiring in June of last year. Randy Mayo, an assistant to Jacoby for 12 years, was picked to replace him.

Mayo resigned in July of this year to enter private business. Jacoby went back to being head coach in August.

Athletic director Gene Bleymaier said he has formed a search committee and hopes to come up with a new track coach by Jan. 20.
