Man Arrested After Standoff In Moscow

A 51-year-old man held police at bay for several hours Thursday after he allegedly advanced on officers with a club.

Meryl E. Mitchell was arrested four hours after police were called to his apartment to investigate a report he head-butted a neighbor. Mitchell grabbed the club when officers tried to talk to him and later displayed a straight razor, police said.

Police said Mitchell also had a machete when they forced their way into his apartment about 4:15 p.m. No one was injured during the standoff.
