By The Spokesman-Review

In the ream of Grisham cinema, the range of genre encompasses everything from thriller (“The Firm,” “The Pelican Brief”) to impassioned polemic (“The Chamber”). Francis Ford Coppola contributes his take on the principles of Grishamism with “The Rainmaker,” a study of one man’s struggle to balance legal ideals while still achieving justice. Matt Damon is perfect in the title role, and Coppola uses him to near perfection.
