Post Offices Open Sundays And Add Hours For Christmas

From Staff Reports

Spokane post offices are open extra hours for holiday mailing.

The following post offices will be open today and Dec. 20 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday and Dec. 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Rosewood, 6325 N. Monroe; Manito, 3120 S. Grand; Shadle-Garland, 1903 W. Garland; Regal Station, 5428 S. Regal; Riverside Station, 904 W. Riverside; Hays Park, 3910 N. Crestline; and Opportunity, 11712 E. Sprague.

Holiday packages and cards should be mailed before Dec. 20 to ensure Christmas delivery, postal officials said.

Last-minute mailers can send packages through Express Mail until Christmas Eve, officials said. It is more costly but allows overnight delivery to most areas.

Postal officials also have a few recommendations for proper holiday mail delivery:

Mail early.

Take mail to the post office early in the day.

Print the complete address including apartment or suite number and zip code, including return address, on all mail.

Use strong reinforced tape on all packages. Make sure they are well-padded.
