Cba Harbors A Trio Of First-Round Disappointments

Ever wonder what happened to former first-round picks Doug Smith, Bo Kimble and Jeff Grayer?

They’re still plugging away in the CBA, waiting for a phone call that will bring them back to where they once were.

Only one of those three players is distinguishing himself in the NBA’s official developmental league.

Smith was shooting only 42 percent, averaging 9.6 points and 6.1 rebounds for the Quad City Thunder. Kimble, coming off the bench for Yakima, was shooting 34 percent and averaging 5.3 points.

Grayer was doing the best of the three, averaging 16.8 points and 6.2 rebounds for the Rockford Lightning.
