Molester Must Move From Home
A convicted child molester who moved near a school bus stop must find a new place to live following a neighborhood uproar.
David L. Shirley, 35, last week moved into a home just a few blocks from Camelot Elementary School and a few yards from where children get on the bus.
“For the protection of the children and for Mr. Shirley, we told him he would have to find a new place to live,” said David Nelsen, district manager of the state’s regional probation and parole office.
In the early 1990s, Shirley was convicted of two counts of child molestation and one count of third-degree rape in Washington. His victims were a girlfriend and children in his home, said Tom Blewett, a sex offender case officer.
