Ccs Men Topple TVcc By 7

Community Colleges of Spokane saw two big leads in both halves whittled down before finally putting away the Treasure Valley Chukars 69-62 in a non-conference men’s college basketball game Tuesday night at SCC.

The Sasquatch (6-1) took a 15-3 lead in the first half before going into the intermission up by only three points.

Spokane stretched the lead back to 14 in the second half only to see the Chukars (6-4) narrow the lead again, but get no closer than six points.

“It was a good win from the standpoint that we are capable of playing so much better and still beat a pretty good team,” said CCS coach Sam Brasch.

CCS had its worst shooting night of the season at 40 percent from the field. Treasure Valley (6-4) shot 34 percent.

The Sasquatch got scoring punch from inside and out as guard Modesto Spencer hit 9 of 16 shots, including 5 of 6 from 3-point range in totaling 26 points. Six-7 post Charlie Gordon added 15 points.
