Group Grades Coffee Eggnog

Rick Bonino Food Editor

If the only safe eggnog is the stuff made without raw eggs, then Starbucks’ eggnog-flavored Frappuccino coffee/milk drink must be the safest of them all.

According to the fine print in its press material, the cold Frappuccino nog - which got mixed marks from those on The Spokesman-Review’s reader food panel, not all of whom consume coffee - contains no eggs at all, just cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla flavors.

That isn’t spelled out anywhere on the label. Then again, what you don’t know won’t hurt you.

Comments: “Yum! I enjoy this, and I’m not a coffee drinker. A nice holiday treat.” - Beth Kowal

“The curdled-looking stuff floating on the top was most unappetizing. And it tastes like it looks - yuk. I don’t drink coffee, and this doesn’t make me want to start.” - Jeannie Coffey
