Pirates Re-Sign Ward

Outfielder Turner Ward and the Pittsburgh Pirates avoided salary arbitration when they agreed to a $1.6 million, two-year contract.

Harry Caray will return for his 16th season as the Chicago Cubs’ announcer, and he’s bringing his grandson, Chip Caray, with him.

A judge in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, lifted a restraining order against former Boston Red Sox outfielder Wilfredo Cordero, a week after his wife claimed he had threatened her.
