Candlelight Concerts At St. John’s Cathedral

Travis Rivers

Christmas music offers more than jolly old St. Nicholas and the red-nosed Rudolph. The Cathedral and The Arts series annually presents Candlelight Concerts at St. John’s Cathedral featuring Spokane singers and instrumentalists in a variety of seasonal music.

This year there will be two performances of the Candlelight Concert, one Sunday afternoon at 4, with a repeat of the program at 8 p.m. Performers include Uptown Opera’s soprano Heather Steckler and baritone Robert Newman, symphony brass players in the Clarion Brass Choir, organist Charles Bradley and pianist Linda Siverts.

Each of Sunday’s programs will be preceded by a pre-concert performance by Spokane-area brass students.

Tickets are $12, $10 for seniors, $6 for children 12 and younger, available at G&B outlets, 325-SEAT. St. John’s Cathedral is located at 12th and Grand.
