Ewu Scholarships Help Several Spokane Residents

The following Spokane residents earned $2,000 Presidential Scholarships from Eastern Washington University for the 1997-98 academic year:

Rhianna Platte, daughter of Myrna and Robert Platte and a 1997 graduate of University High.

Jina Reidt, daughter of Gina and Jake Reidt and a 1997 graduate of Lewis and Clark.

Kelsey Rounds, daughter of Eric Rounds and Cyndi Rounds and a 1997 graduate of North Central High School.

Kari Mull, daughter of Alonda Sheldon of Spokane, is a junior at Eastern who is studying accounting.

Van Quan received a $2,000 Academic Honors Scholarship at Eastern Washington University, where she is a freshman.

Quan is a June graduate of University High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and French Club.

Kathleen Morefield, a graduate student at Eastern Washington University majoring in special education, received a $670 Spokane Central Lions Club Fellowship.

She is the daughter of Norris Ham of the Spokane Valley and the late Tammy Ham. She is a 1982 graduate of Central Valley High School.

Leslie Holub received a $2,000 Washington Water Power Transfer Scholarship to attend Eastern Washington University. She is the daughter of Carolyn and Ron Holub of the Spokane Valley and a 1993 graduate of East Valley High School.

Brian DeBoer, a 1991 graduate of West Valley High School, received a $1,000 Wittenbach Trust Scholarship from Eastern Washington University. He is the son of Barbara DeBoer of Spokane Valley, and Marty DeBoer of Connell, Wash.
