Two Men Face Arson Charges

City police arrested the owner and manager of the local Radio Shack electronics store on Thursday for allegedly trying to burn down their business.

Store manager Duane James Valbert, 29, of Pullman was charged with first-degree theft and second-degree arson, police said. Owner Rory Alan Hazeltine, 37, of Troy, Idaho, was charged with first-degree arson. Both were taken to the Whitman County Jail and additional charges are expected, police said.

The arrests followed an investigation of a Dec. 3 burglary at the store at 410 Grand Ave., police said in a prepared statement. The statement gave no further details and police were unavailable for comment late Thursday. , DataTimes
