Balanced Blackhawks Hold Off Hern, Lake City

The fourth-quarter 3-point shooting of Lake City’s Gabe Hern wasn’t enough as Cheney defeated the T-Wolves 69-56 in a Border League matchup at Cheney on Saturday night.

Hern finished with five 3-pointers for the T-Wolves (3-4 overall, 2-3 league).

For the Blackhawks (5-1, 4-0), four players scored in double figures. Pat Stiffler scored a team-high 16 points while James Kiger had 11 rebounds for the Blackhawks.

The Eagles could not stop Paul Nieman and Jeven Watson, who combined for 32 points for the Bulldogs.

Jesse Quik’s team-high 17 points led the Knights.
