Boys Basketball

A second-quarter three-point play proved decisive Saturday as Central Valley won the season’s first game for Valley bragging rights.

University (0-5 overall, 0-3 Greater Spokane League) was within five points of CV (2-1, 2-1) when Jeff Priebe scored, was fouled and made the free throw. The Bears, who finished 23 of 45 from the floor, then pulled away.

Phil Renz had five rebounds for the Titans, who kept their turnovers down to 11.
