Herbert-Led Timberwolves Overhaul Getz, Blackhawks

Not even Anna Getz’s out-of-this-world night could stop Lake City.

Lindsay Herbert scored 20 points, including a pair of free throws with 2 seconds left, to lift Lake City (12-0, 8-0) to a 58-55 Border League win at Cheney (4-2, 3-1) Saturday.

The Timberwolves, ranked No. 1 among Idaho A-1 schools, trailed by 10 points in the third quarter. Much of the damage was done by Getz, who was 8 of 12 from 3-point range and finished with 37 points.

LC’s Alison Asher and Kelli Kendrick combined for 17 rebounds.

WV led by seven at halftime but trailed by six with 2 minutes left. The Eagles hit three 3-pointers to rally. Janelle Ruen had seven rebounds and Carmi Eberle four steals for PF.
